You will leave the train for now as you are transferred to your hotel for the next six nights staying at the luxurious beach retreat in Langkawi, The Datai.

The first is a discovery of the local Peranakan cooking, where you will visit a traditional spice shop and grocery stores to choose your ingredients, before creating enticing local dishes. For those with a passion for culture or art, this will be the experience for you, as you visit the Georgetown Old Quarter to see stunning temples, a contemporary studio and an opera and puppet house. Or you may choose to explore the area independently with the assistance of your private tri-shaw! Armed with a map and driver, you can explore Georgetown’s picturesque streets at your own pace.

After an exceptional morning you will re-join the train at Butterworth for a delicious lunch and a relaxing afternoon on board watching the diverse scenery pass you by as you head to your final destination. In the meantime, you are invited to a final evening of celebrations where you will be spoilt with irresistible cuisine and entertainment. If you’re still up shortly after midnight, you’ll glimpse the bright lights of Kuala Lumpur as the train passes through.

The following morning you will take breakfast in your cabin as you pass through Johor, as you relish in the striking beaches and rainforest views before the strait into Singapore where you will embark for your onward journey, brimming with the many magical memories made on this on this grand adventure through Malaysia.
