Skiing in Lech, already a fantastic location, is about to get better with the new Flexenbahn cableway to connect Lech to the rest of the Arlberg ski area, giving guests easy access to 305km of downhill slopes - the biggest ski area in Austria.
There are so many challenges for skiers to complete in the Arlberg area, such as 'The White Ring' in Lech, the 'Tannberg Ring' in Warth and the long downhill piste in St Anton, 'the White Thrill', the new connection means the entrance of a new skiing experience, the 'Run of Fame' which boasts 65km of downhill skiing and an altitude difference of 18,000 meters.
In addition to downhill skiing there is also 15km of cross country track, a snowpark, ice bowling, skating, Heli-skiing, paragliding, snow shoe hiking, a toboggan run, horse drawn sledges and a world famous ski school.
Location & Directions
Severins Lech is located in the resort of Lech, Austria, a mountain village and ski resort in the Bludenz district in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg on the banks of the river Lech. It is part of the Arlberg region.
When to go
Lech has an enviable reputation for its snow and averages about seven meters over the season. The Eastern Alps frequently benefit from early snow and the largely pastoral terrain does not need a hugely deep base to offer great skiing conditions. As a result, Lech frequently offers some of the best skiing in the Alps early in the season. The microclimate means that snowfalls are more prolific than in many other resorts and with plenty of skiing above 2000 meters, conditions can be great right up until the end of the season.
