You will be welcomed aboard the Anouvong on the first day in Lao. After you have settled into your cabin the boat will set sail for a 1.5 hour cruise towards your first stop along the Upper Mekong River. During this time you will be welcomed with canapes and champagne to enjoy during the first stage of your cruise. You will also be invited to the café lounge for a fascinating lecture by Mr Francis Engelmann on the Laotian culture and history, Luang Prabang.

Your first stop will be at the famous Pak Ou Caves, where you can explore the near 4,000 sacred Buddist statues within the caves. Followed by a delicious lunch on board as you sail to a local village on the banks of the river, where you will be treated to a traditional Baci ceremony to bring you luck and blessings for the rest of the trip.

The remainder of the day will see you sail to your overnight mooring where you will enjoy a wonderful sandbank BBQ dinner under the stars, offering fine Laotian cuisine. The perfect way to end the day.
