The climate in southern India shows only slight seasonal variations unlike northern India. Rajakkad Estate is a lovely small, boutique styled hotel high above Dindigul with awe inspiring views. It's beautifully located in Palani Hills in between lush green forests, surrounded by coffee estates.
Originally built in the 18th century more than 250 years ago, it's more of a home away from home than a hotel. Deeply influenced by the local Keralan architecture, it is a combination of simplicity and comfort. The hotel has been built with a lot of care and ensuring that the nature has been kept in complete harmony. Being home to many different species of birds, it is a bird-lover's paradise.
The building comprises a library, beautiful gardens and all rooms open onto quaint courtyards. Here you can lie in your hammock and feel at one and complete with nature. It is truly a place for those looking for complete relaxation and peace of mind. Alternatively, walk in the coffee estates, visit a nearby village temple festival or take an excursion to nearby temple town, there's plenty that can be explored.
There are seven spacious bedrooms at Rajakkad Estate, all with en suite bathrooms. All the rooms open onto the courtyard and the garden giving it a very open and spacious feel. Great attention to comfort has been paid providing quality linen, comfortable mattresses, luxurious quilts making it a simple and lovely experience.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Rajakkad. One child can be accommodated in parent's room for an extra charge.
Sightseeing to Madurai, Trichy can be arranged. Babysitting can be arranged at an extra cost. During the winter season enjoy yoga classes with the resident yoga teacher.
Facilities at the hotel include a swimming pool and al fresco dining (depending on the weather) can be arranged in the dining area or the jungle. Breakfast and dinner are included in your package. Lunch can be arranged for couples and families. The hotel offers a lovely mix of South Indian and Mediterranean cuisine.
