An experience for the energetic, you'll set off at 5pm once the lifts have closed and climb to the Chalet de la Marine at 2,500m. Properly equipped with sealskins, you'll be escorted by professional guides from Leopards Tracks who know the resort inside out. The climb will take you just under an hour, and you'll be richly rewarded with a glass of mulled wine and a bowl of soup before returning to the resort by the light of the stars.
There are countless other opportunities to explore the surrounding mountains with a guide. Many companies offer a range of excursions, all with certified guides. Explore the great glacial zones of La Vanoise, one of the most beautiful off piste tours in the Trois Vallées, or discover the immense Maurienne flank behind Val Thorens.
