Provence enjoys a pleasant, Mediterranean climate. On average, Provence gets 300 days of sunshine each year, with warm but mild temperatures. Summer is high season here, with August bringing the hottest weather and the biggest crowds. Spring is a great time of year, the weather is warm, with temperatures swaying between 16 and 20°C, and the crowds are small. If you want to see lavender fields then it would be best to visit the region in June. In October the weather starts to cool. Autumn is also the start of the wettest weeks of the year. October sees an average of 3.7 inches of rain, with an average of three inches following in November. Still, it never gets all that chilly and snow is rare. In January, the mercury rarely dips beneath the -1°C.

Each of the rooms is designed with a stylish grand feel only accomplished by an original French castle. They are all named after either people who once lived there or who had some connection to the families who lived there, keeping the history alive. The hotel seamlessly blends 13th Century features with 21st Century luxury's.

The Wellness centre has a number of beauty and relaxation treatments to help you fully indulge in to your holiday.

The Salle des Gardes restaurant is headed up by Jean Alexandre Ouaratta, previous head chef at Bocuse and who has experience under Yannick Alleno at Paris’ palace hotel Le Meurice (3* Michelin). The restaurant offers delicious traditionally influenced dishes with all of the ingredients sourced locally from markets. Here the fish is from nearby streams and the cheeses all from the surrounding regions, a real French experience!

No trip to Beaujolais would be complete without a little wine tasting, in the surrounding area their are an abundance of wineries all ready to entice you in for an afternoon's tasting. If you are feeling more active the hotel can arrange horse riding, mountain biking or tennis. On those special occasions why not take a helicopter ride over this beautiful region.
