Hacienda Abraspungo is a comfortable and charming ranch that blends a distinct old-world ambience with very personal service and modern comforts. It is an ideal spot from which to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The hacienda is adorned with antiques, old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, and artefacts from colonial and pre-Colombian times. Comprising of forty en-suite rooms, each incorporates modern interior design elements within the framework of a traditional, colonial architecture, all enjoying direct access to the magnificent gardens.
The restaurant area is filled with unique antiques and offers views of the gardens, as well as superb dishes created from local produce grown in the region. There is also a bar where you can relax with a nightcap after a day’s exploring.
Hacienda Abraspungo is the ideal spot to begin expeditions to Chimborazo Volcano and incredible surrounding mountains, be it on horseback, mountain bike or on foot. The hacienda offers interesting treks through the area’s diverse ecosystems as well as tours to the surrounding lakes where you can hike, fish and share experiences with the remote indigenous people that live here. The Hacienda is also a starting point for the famous Devil’s Nose train ride. Experienced mountain climbers, or amateurs who wish to improve their skills, can organize through the Hacienda a special adventure with mountaineer Jose Jijon who has climbed the highest peaks in every continent.
