Places to Visit in Costa Rica
Drift though the flooded forests and intricate canals of Tortuguero National Park. Bathe in mineral springs near Arenal Volcano which, until recently, was the most active volcano in Central America. White-water raft down the Pacuare River. Unwind away from the crowds on the dark-sand beaches decorating the Northern Pacific coast.
Tangled primary rainforest of the Osa Peninsula which juts out from the southwestern corner of the country, is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Much of the region is protected by the Corcovado National Park, sheltering rare mammals such as tapirs, anteaters and ocelots, as well as being one of the last strongholds of the scarlet macaw.
