Dongchuan

Often referred to as "God's Magic Palette", Dongchuan's surreal mountainous terrain is painted with hues of red, gold and brown. The scenic spot is good to visit anytime of the year, with every season offering different views.

Dongchuan

Springtime is unique with the addition of white hues from buckwheat flowers and potato flowers. From May-June and September, the golden wheat, highland barley and green potato seeding bursts into colours. November is fantastic with the golden rapeseed and other green seeding. Around March, you may be lucky if Dongchuan snows and provides a different view of the area.

Scenic spots in Dongchuan includes Damakan Village (best during sunrise), Qicaipo for its seven-colored slope, Jinxiu Yuan which has the greatest concentration of red earth in the scenic area, the coloured fields of Yuepuao, Luosiwan which is good during both sunrise and sunset, Wafangliangzi which offers a highpoint, as well as Yuepuao which is best during sunset.
