The resort is open year round.

BC’s varied climate is influenced by latitude, elevation and ocean proximity but it’s generally warmer in the south and cooler in the north. Winters are mild in Vancouver and Victoria, with only brief snowfalls, while other regions – especially the north and the interior – are subject to freezing temperatures and heavy snow from November to March.

Spring and fall are often warm and pleasant but rainfall can be heavy, particularly on the coast. Summers (June to September) are mostly dry and sunny with warm temperatures, but the interior is hot in July and August, with temperatures surpassing 30°C

Anna Northeast (Staff)

Although not having all the bells and whistles of a conventional hotel, Oswego more than makes up for this with its contemporary apartment style and its setting, in more of a residential area of Victoria, yet still within 10 minutes walk of the inner harbour and shopping areas. Its also just 5 minutes from the Victoria / Seattle Clipper dock so ideal if travelling to or from Seattle. The lobby is all dark wood and bright green apples, I have a very warm welcome from the staff who are young, efficient and very friendly. Stepping in to the lobby, I see that the whole of the hotel is laid before me, there is a comfy bar and lounge where guests are enjoying a great looking brunch, Im informed that they have live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings as well which must make for a great atmosphere, popular with guests and locals alike. Thats all downstairs, except for a small but adequate fitness room. Upstairs all the accommodation is apartment style and comes with a kitchenette (in the studios, perfect for two people) or a full kitchen in the one and two bedroom suites. The price is great here too which means that families can splash out on a two bedroom suite with plenty of space for a great price. Accommodations are modern and functional and most of the rooms have pleasant balconies with residential views which you can upgrade to a higher floor for harbour glimpses if desired. One thing to mention is that to be in line with the environmental concerns of the city, the hotel is not air conditioned so can get hot in the summer. They do have opening windows and of course the balconies, but this is just something to be aware of and perhaps ask for a non south facing room to avoid direct heat. This is a great option for a short stay in the city, especially with a family or when lots of facilities isnt the main aim. A fab little find all in all.
