Banff is best enjoyed through the summer months when temperatures generally remain in the twenties and humidity is low. This is the ideal time to visit for hiking, biking, climbing and rafting while the ski season runs from November to May. Weather in this region is changeable so layers are highly recommended whatever time of year you visit.

Located just 1 minute from the centre of Banff, the Moose Hotel offers a choice of rooms and one and two bedroom suites. This brand new 4* property is the place to stay in the heart of Banff if you would like a bit more independence.
There is an indoor swimming pool, as well as two spectacular roof-top pools. There is also a small exercise room and fitness room.
Activities vary greatly in Banff from the Winter to the Summer months, but year round there is a great focus on the outdoors and it is a wonderful destination for guests who enjoy a more active holiday. In summer there is a large number of hiking trails to be enjoyed along with horseback riding, mountain biking and helicopter tours. We also recommend taking the Banff Gondola for fantastic views, just 5 minutes from the hotel.
In winter try snowshoeing, canyon ice walks, dog sledding and ice fishing as well as more traditional skiing. The resort also has its own Bowling & Entertainment Center offering a range of games and entertainment facilities for ages 3 and up.

The Moose is a lovely option for guests using the town of Banff as a base for exploring Banff National Park and the surrounding area. This new hotel (opened in 2016) has modern features whilst retaining an alpine lodge style with natural materials and a warm friendly ambience.
The two bedroom suites work well for families, and even the lead in rooms are a good size and have modern bathrooms. Facilities are good, including a small spa, indoor swimming pool and compact fitness room, however the unexpected gem has to be the two rooftop hot tubs overlooking the town and Canadian Rocky Mountains - A great spot to relax after a day of hiking and exploring Banff National Park.
The hotel is only a minutes' walk from downtown Banff's shops and restaurants, and a short drive from local sights and activities, such as the gondola, Lake Minnewanka, and numerous hiking trails. Lake Louise is under an hour away by car.
The Moose has neither extensive facilities nor spectacular mountain views from its guest rooms and restaurants, however it is certainly a great option in town with a relaxed vibe, unobtrusive service and offers guests an independent stay
