Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

I had quite high expectations of Blue Waters as its one Id heard such good things about, and I wasnt disappointed. Its a fantastic resort with so much to offer particularly for families.
I stayed in one of the Cove suites, which are incredibly spacious and beautifully designed in light neutral tones with pops of blue. You have around 8 suites per villa, and each villa has its own pool, so you can really tuck yourself away  - it almost feels like a little boutique hotel within the larger resort.
Theres plenty of choice with 3 pools main pools, the lovely stretch of beach, and youll find lots of pairs of sunbeds tucked into nooks and crannies around the resort too.
We had a delicious dinner down at the Cove, and the breakfast buffet (most important meal of the day especially on holiday!) did not disappoint. You've also got a well equipped kids club, a spa, plenty of activities on offer its a great all-rounder, particularly given the price tag.

This is a great hotel for all. It has many options for families including interconnecting rooms and 1 bedroom accommodations which has a separate living room. Also perfect for couples, this resort is intimate but still has a lot of space to explore and relax in.

There are various pools set along the resort. The Cove Suites are in villa blocks with there own shared pools plus a main pool further towards the beach and an adult only pool.

The food and the atmosphere is great which is why so many guests go back.

Sarah Turner (Staff)

Blue Waters enjoys a great location on the north coast of Antigua only a 15 minute drive from the airport so happy days in terms of transfer from the airport! The resort is also only a 5 minute drive from the famed Le Bistro restaurant.

We stayed in one of the beautiful Cove Suites. The Cove Suites are the newest and most luxurious addition to the accommodation options at Blue Waters. They are a more secluded being further from the centre of the resort and benefit from fantastic sea views and exclusive access to a terrace and infinity pool shared only with others staying in a Cove Suite within the same villa. While reading on the terrace in front of our suite, I spotted a couple of hummingbirds flitting from flower to flower on the bougainvillea.

The Hugo Tree is a survivor of Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and now grows horizontally across the main beach, giving it a certain "je ne sais quoi". In addition to the main beach, there are 2 quieter beaches.

Alice Moseley (Staff)

I think the Cove Suites are excellent as they are located within a villa and you can enjoy the swimming pool, one per villa (although shared with the other guests in the block) but away from the main hotel.

Blue Waters definitely has a resort feel to it and great value for money.

Great white sandy beach, easily accessible and you can swim out to a pontoon and sunbathe on there.

Very convenient from the airport as the transfer time is just 20 minutes.

Victoria Douglas (Staff)

I was really pleasantly delighted with Blue Waters. As one of our lead-in price points this offers good food, service and facilities for the price tag. So yes, there are not extensive menus in the Palm restaurant and yes, there could be fancier bircher style muesli at breakfast but if you are seeking a peaceful and elegant Caribbean retreat then this just really fits the bill.

The staff here are so welcoming and I think that the concierge style service makes the difference.

I'd highly recommend the cove suites for our guests, although you share the pool with up to 8 other rooms I was the only one using the pool in the 48 hours I was there. The cove suites are an excellent size and the terrace and balconies offer beautiful views. The location of the cove suites are also in the quieter and newer part of the property.

I would very happily send young honeymooners here, older couples who like a sociable environment and also families with smaller children who don't need lots of sporting facilities or a large kids club. There's enough space for everyone to not intrude on each others visit and an adults only pool too.

Blue Waters is the largest and most "resorty" of our Antigua hotels and is great for a relaxed family holiday. The bathrooms of the refurbished beach front rooms are particularly lovely but most of all I loved the spacious Cove Suites which offer that little bit of additional exclusivity.

Sarah Jane Tichacek (Staff)

Blue Waters offers a good standard of accommodation set over many acres of grounds. The deluxe beach front rooms have been refurbished. The Residence side of the resort is much quieter. Rock Cottage offers four bedroom accommodation that is perfect for groups or families alike.

Juliet Morris (Staff)

If you are looking for an All Inclusive property that still offers style and class, then Blue Waters is a great option if your budget wont stretch to Jumby Bay prices. I did not know what to expect when I visited the hotel last year, as this is a relatively new property to the Scott Dunn portfolio, but I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed and friendly, Caribbean feel of the resort combined with the level of comfort throughout the hotel. I would describe this hotel as a 4 star deluxe standard rather than a 5 star standard hotel, but don't let this put you off. The rooms are really spacious, clean and comfortable and all are sea-facing. The decor in the rooms is classic, colonial Caribbean. There is a range of accommodation choices to suit everyone, from a standard room to one, two and three bedroom villas. The Cove Suites have had some fabulous reviews and for the ultimate in luxury, stay in the four bedroom Rock Cottage which offers total privacy away from the rest of the resort. The two secluded beaches are glorious - picture-perfect soft golden sand coves. This hotel offers an authentic Antiguan holiday suitable for families and groups of friends.
