Antarctic weather is a lesson in extremes. Antarctica is the world’s coldest, windiest and driest continent. During the summer months the winds abate considerably and the weather is surprisingly comfortable, averaging between 20 and 50F. Summertime also means 18-24 hours of sunlight which allows life to flourish for a brief summer period. Long days also allow extensive exploration by small ship cruise to Antarctica. Antarctic weather allows for a short season of cruising from November to March each year.

Small and easily manoeuvrable yet with the facilities of a large hotel, the MV Sea Spirit provides all-suite accommodation for 114 passengers, an ice-strengthened hull, a fleet of Zodiacs and a Lloyds 1D ice class.
With space for 114 passengers, the MV Spirit is a friendly, welcoming vessel which focuses on creating a true polar experience for all with an experienced crew of 72, onboard lectures and shore excursions. Balancing this with all-suite accommodation, a restaurant, outdoor bistro, bar and a number of lounges, library and small gym, the MV Sea Spirit offers comfortable voyages through Antarctica and the Arctic.
From the 20sq.m Superior Suites to the 43sq.m Owner’s Suite, the seven categories of accommodation on the MV Sea Spirit all feature exterior views, flat screen TVs and DVDs, ensuite bathrooms, hairdryers and internet access. Recently renovated, the suites are spacious, with a classic decor of heavy drapes, thick carpets and crisp white bed linens.
The open-seating dining room offers international cuisines and creates a convivial, social atmosphere that extends into the bar and Club Lounge where passengers come together to chat about the day’s sightings or shore excursions. Knowledgeable and passionate crew are often on hand to answer any questions, while the well-stocked library has a wealth of reference materials and polar texts.
An open-Bridge policy allows passengers to chat with the Captain and observe the frozen landscape from a privileged angle, while a focus on creating an authentic polar adventure continues in the state-of-the-art Presentation Lounge with informative lectures, briefings and social events. The ice-strengthened hull and set of retractable fin stabilizers ensures the smoothest sailing possible, while a fleet of ten Zodiacs bring passengers ashore on daily excursions.
The Triple Classic cabins are located on Oceanus Deck. Averaging 21 square metres/226 square feet, these have two twins and a comfortable sofa bed. The twins also convert to a King. These suites have a picture window, two wardrobes and en suite facilities. Amenities include: in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD, individual temperature control, and hair dryer.
|Main Deck Suite||
The Main Deck Suites are around 23 square metres/248 square feet and are equipped with either two twins or a King Size bed. They are located on the Main Deck with a minimum of two portholes for exterior views. Amenities include: en suite facilities, in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD individual temperature control and hair dryer.
The Classic Suites are located on the Oceanus Deck and average around 21 square metres/226 square feet. They feature a picture window, two wardrobes and a choice of either two twin beds or a King Size bed. Amenities include: en suite facilities, in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD, individual temperature control and hair dryer.
Superior Suites are located on the Club Deck. and are around 20 square metres/ 215 square feet, these cabins feature two twin beds or a King Size bed. The picture window overlooks an outside walkway on the Club Deck. Amenities include: en suite facilities, walk-in closet or wardrobe, in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD, individual temperature control, hair dryer.
The Deluxe Suites have balconies and are located on the Sports Deck. Averaging 24 square metres/ 258 square feet means plenty of room. They have either two twin beds or a King Size bed. A sliding glass door leads to a private balcony. These suites feature a walk-in closet or wardrobe. Amenities include en suite facilities, in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD, individual temperature control, and a hair dryer.
The Premium Suites are located on the Sun Deck. Averaging a generous 30 square metres/ 323 square feet, with two twin beds or a King Size bed. Access the private balcony by a sliding glass door. Amenities include: en suite facilities, lounge area, in-room safe, refrigerator, satellite telephone access, TV/DVD, individual temperature control, and hair dryer.
This spacious suite is 43 square metres/ 463 square feet and is located on the Sun Deck. The Owner's Suite has a separate living room with game and meeting area. A BOSE stereo system provides background music, or watch videos on the HD plasma TV. Sliding glass doors lead to a private deck. There is a jetted bathtub in the en suite bathroom facilities and a King Size bed. A sofa bed can accommodate a third person.

|Zodiac Boat Trips||
The MV Sea Spirit has a fleet of Zodiacs that head out on daily excursions to visit penguin colonies, hike ashore, explore frozen wildernesses and take advantage of the extraordinary landscapes on the voyage.
Kayaking, birding, camping and hiking are options on many of the departures, allowing passengers to fully experience one of the world’s last remaining true wildernesses.
Onboard presentations from enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff bring the polar landscape and its inhabitants to life. Touching on subjects such as conservation, penguin colonies, geology and history, the talks provide an in-depth look at the landscapes and wildlife of the region.
