Private Whale Shark Researcher Experience

Board the research vessel at La Paz marina where you will be greeted by the scientists and researchers who are working on protecting and understanding whale sharks, the largest fish on the planet.

Spend the day learning about the projects which are underway, including photo-identification, population analysis, satellite tagging and genetic analysis. You will then have the opportunity to jump in the water and snorkel alongside these amazing creatures (season permitting) - be warned, they are a lot faster than they look!! Enjoy a beach picnic on one of the pristine beaches of the Sea of Cortez before heading back to La Paz marina.
