Nestled into the landscape at the heart of Ulley Village, Snow Leopard Lodge offers homestay style accommodation with just 6 bedrooms. Here you really have the chance for a special and immersive experience as you will be living with a Ladakhi family giving an intimate insight into their lifestyle in this harsh and extreme landscape. The area surrounding the Snow Leopard Lodge has only recently been developed and explored for snow leopard watching and has the benefit of being at the center of three valleys, under the radar for mass tourism, and known for supporting several snow leopards.
Alongside the bedrooms, the guests all share the large, warm kitchen in the heart of the Ladakhi home. Bathrooms are shared and hot water is provided in morning and evening for bathing. The lodge can not be classed as luxurious but provides a clean and comfortable stay full of character and warmth from your hosts. What does make this adventure luxury is the chance to experience this incredible landscape and view these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Both local and international cuisine is served at the lodge but due to the remoteness of the area mobile phones and internet do not work. Electricity at times can be erratic but all rooms do have gas heaters.
