Cultural Quanzhou Day Tour
This morning, visit the biggest temple of Fujian - Kaiyuan Temple, unique for being a Buddhist-Hindu temple and one of the few remaining Hindu temple of China. Explore the Twin Pagodas of the temple with intricate carvings on the stone structures and head to the Maritime Museum. It showcases the long history of Quanzhou and as one of the ports of the 'Maritime Silkroad', there were plenty of ancient relics that were found in ship wrecks that are being displayed in the museum.
Transfer to Qingjing Mosque, which was built originally for the Arab Muslims who traveled to Quanzhou during the Song dynasty. It is one of the oldest holy Muslim sites in China. Time-permitting, we can either shop in Tumen Street or visit Xunpu, an oyster village located southeast of Quanzhou known for its traditional houses built with oyster shells.
Quanzhou is located approximately 1.5 hours' drive away from Xiamen.
