Embark on a 10-minute boat through Taoyuan Cave into the hidden utopia of Bamei Village. You will explore the village and the lives of the Zhuang ethnic group, including the Big Banyan Tree.
You will be driven approximately 4 hours to Bamei Village, often regarded as the "lost Shangri-La" due to its remote accessibility. The beauty of the village has long been renowned as described by a Chinese writer Tao Yuanming. Adding on the mythology is the fact that it is hidden behind a dark limestone tunnel, which takes you back in time in the lives of the Zhuang people. In Zhuang language, Bamei literally translates to "cave in the forest".
