Bumping off-road in a Land Rover Discovery, you’ll explore the remote wilderness and untamed beauty of Braemar with a local guide who will use their knowledge of the Cairngorms to ensure the best views and a chance of spotting red and black grouse, red deer, mountain hares, red squirrel and golden eagle. As you cross mountain tracks and pristine hillsides you’ll hear tales of the history of the area and explore the diverse flora and fauna of the landscape. The experience should last around four hours and sturdy footwear is recommended as the terrain is uneven and can be waterlogged.

After, you'll journey off road, over a stunning mountain pass through to the Glenlivet area to beautifully authentic farm which is home to the only herd of free-ranging reindeer in the United Kingdom. As well as reindeer the farm is also home to Soay sheep, iron-age pigs and Galloway cattle. You'll have the chance to get up close to the animals as well as meeting the farmers who spend their days looking after them.

As long as the weather is on side you'll then enjoy a traditional picnic lunch featuring home-made sandwiches, soup, salad and cakes.
