It is very difficult to predict the weather in the United Kingdom - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but the UK does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but there is nothing better than finding a remote pub with a roaring fire to sit beside after a long walk in the country.

A quintessentially British retreat, a visit to Buckland Manor is a must. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, all of the charming villages are a stone's throw away, but if you just feel like relaxing, a comfy armchair by the fire ought to do it!
Buckland Manor, a Relais & Chateaux hotel, is an elegant country manor that has a warm and inviting atmosphere to make you feel right at home. The manor is surrounded by perfectly manicured gardens that make for a wonderful sight, whatever the season. Summer brings bright green lawns that roll into the hills further afield, and the wintry frost looks so beautiful and makes the roaring fire downstairs all the more welcoming!
There are plenty of living rooms in the manor for you to relax in a comfortable armchair and play some board games, enjoy a glass or two of red wine with a game of cards, read the paper with a cup of coffee on Sunday morning, or indeed indulge in a well deserved British afternoon tea of sandwiches and scones by the fire after a brisk countryside walk.
Rooms vary in size but all come with stunning countryside views, traditional English decor and are furnished with lovely antiques and beautiful fabrics. All bathrooms are en-suite and come with luxury bath amenities and, of course, bath tubs! The restaurant has quite a formal atmosphere with gentlemen being requested to wear shirts and jackets; the food is sensational and uses local produce and herbs from its own garden.
You are right amongst some of England's most picture-perfect villages such as Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Day trips are easily possible to Oxford, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon.
