Greece is a summer destination, and typically the best time to visit is between late April to late October. On average, the warmest months of the year are July and August, when the beaches and towns are more crowded with other visitors. June and September are good months to visit, when the villages are quieter but temperatures are still very pleasant. Rain is unlikely during the high summer but occasional storms occur in the late summer.

  • At Sea: Island Hopping aboard The Ilma

    At a Glance

    The following day you will be transferred from your hotel to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Ilma, to begin your breathtaking voyage from Greece to Turkey. Settle into your exquisite suite before you embrace the yacht's finer offerings, from delicious cuisine, sensational facilities and exemplary service. Take your time to become acquainted with the ship's layout and enjoy a mouthwatering evening meal before you set sail through the night to your first stop on the itinerary, the beautiful island of Milos.

     

    Day 10: Milos, Greece  (Yacht anchored in destination for day) 
    After a restful nights sleep you will awake to beautiful views over the island of Milos. One of the most culturally rich islands in the Cyclades, a volcanic island of pristine beaches, thermal springs and unusual rock formations.  
    During your time on this cruise, you will enjoy carefully curated shore excursions, allowing you to explore each destination exactly as you wish. Whether visiting iconic sights, immersing yourself in local culture, or discovering the untamed natural beauty. In small groups you will join other like-minded guests, where you will be taken on expertly guided excursions, designed by the Ritz-Carlton destination experts.
     
    Day 11 - Santorini, Greece 
    As you arrive at Santorini the following day, be sure to be on deck to soak up the extraordinary sight of Santorini Bay. With its iconic, blue-domed churches, the whitewashed villages, bustling with shops and tavernas.  Join an excursion to the stunning village of Fira, with its amazing views, you can hike the Caldera Trail to Oia – for an equally breathtaking perspective of the exquisite bay that awaits you at every turn. Or sample other island delights – the wineries, the black sand beaches or the Minoan ruins of Akrotiri. Then relax in a cliffside taverna with a local assyrtiko wine and watch an amazing sunset.
    Day 12: Mykonos, Greece 
    Get lost in the beauty of Mykonos. Explore the narrow, twisting lanes filled with exclusive boutiques, art galleries and world-class restaurants. With several excursions available, take a 4x4 to explore the hidden corners of this stunning Cycladic island, or take a short boat trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Delos, a sacred islet of ancient ruins and the mythological birthplace of the twins Apollo and Artemis. Board the ship for another night at sea, as you sail to your first stop in Turkey
     
    Day 13: Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey 
    Arriving at Kusadasi you will be greeted with a waterfront promenade, open-air cafés and some gorgeous beaches, but head inland by 10 miles and you’ll find Ephesus, one of the great cities of antiquity. You will have time to explore its agoras, baths, libraries and mosaic-adorned houses is an experience you’ll never forget. 
     
    Day 14: Patmos, Greece 
    Today you will land at the beautiful and holy island of Patmos, where St. John is held to have written the Book of Revelation while in exile. The Monastery of St. John is a must-see, a castle-like complex surrounded by the white-washed buildings of the historic Chora. Take in the hilltop vistas, the nearby Cave of the Apocalypse and the many other churches of the area. Take some time to visit Skála, the capital, a pretty port town with a natural harbour, a perfect base to swim, dine and relax. 
     
    Day 15: Sail to Istanbul 
    Spend that day at sea sailing to Istanbul, the perfect chance to rest and relax on board, making the most of the yacht's lux facilities. Enjoy a workout at the gym, indulge in a relaxing spa treatment, watch the sky transform at sunset from The Observation Lounge, or just lose yourself in a good book. 
     
    Day 16: Istanbul, Turkey 
    Watch the sunrise as you enter the port in Istanbul, you will be struck by the bold beauty of this city. Start your day at one of the world’s most beautiful buildings, the Byzantine Basilica of Hagia Sophia, with its gold mosaics and impressive dome. Next visit the Blue Mosque, the grand project of Sultan Ahmet I, and a tour of the harem at the opulent Topkapi Palace. In the afternoon, you can take a boat trip between Europe and Asia or practice your haggling skills at the bustling and colourful Grand Bazaar. Find some souvenirs before you bid a bon voyage to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Ilma and depart on your onward journey home.
