Early morning, you will be transferred from the hotel to Ollantaytambo station, ready for your Vistadome train trip through Urubamba Valley until 104km.
You will start the trek on the Inca Trail to the archaeological site of Chachabamba where the ascent begins. On the way you will get the chance to stop and visit the fascinating archaeological site of Wiñaywayna, where you will have time to enjoy your packed lunch. After lunch you will continue through the semi-tropical forest towards Intipunku (Sun Gate) where the first spectacular view of the magical citadel of Machu Picchu opens up. After a 45-minute descent, you will arrive at the control point of the citadel to take the zig-zag bus down to the Machu Picchu town to spend the night in your hotel or otherwise stay at the Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel Machu Picchu, next to the ruins.
The following morning you will meet your guide at your hotel for a 30-minute bus ride to the impressive ‘Lost City of the Incas’; Machu Picchu. Here you will start your guided tour of these mind-blowing ruins. If you wish to climb the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you may request this in advance. After this awe-inspiring tour through you will enjoy an A la Carte lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge, A Belmond Hotel Machu Picchu, followed by afternoon tea. Later in the afternoon, you will return to either Ollantaytambo or Poroy station in the Hiram Bingham, a Belmond Train, where you will sink into luxury to enjoy cocktails and a gourmet dinner on board. Upon arrival to your station, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
