Whether you spend several hours on the water or simply head out for an hour before breakfast, this is a lovely way to experience the sounds. Paddle up Queen Charlotte Sound past boat huts, modern architecture homes and wild forests. These are “proper” kayaks rather than the sit-on kayaks, so are more wobbly, but life-jackets are provided and it’s rare for people to fall in! Guided options can include a day paddle to visit the Salmon Farm in neighbouring Ruakaka Bay with lunch at Ratimera Beach. Itineraries can be tailored to suit both the fitness and experience levels of guests.
If you take a camera or phone to snap a few pictures on your adventure, do take a drybag with you just in case!
