The schedule for Baikonur rocket launch differs from year to year. Climate-wise, Kazakhstan's Southern Desert enjoys the warmest climate in all of Kazakhstan, with temperatures often hitting 36°C during the summer months of June-August. The weather may get a little chilly during the winter months of December-February but it is noticeably warmer than the rest of Kazakhstan.

Itinerary

Get up close to a real-life space rocket launch at the very site where Sputnik and Yuri Gagarin was flown into the space from!

  1. Fly into Almaty

  2. Days 1-3: Almaty

    Your starting point begins in Almaty, nestled between picturesque snow-capped mountains which is visible during a clear day. Enjoy a city tour to take in the city's essential sights, including the charming Panfilov Park, the exotic Green Bazaar, Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame, and the Central Mosque. Enjoy panoramic views of Almaty from Kok Tobe Hill, home to the world’s tallest TV tower.

  3. Fly into Kyzylorda

  4. Days 3-6: Baikonur

    Upon arrival in Kyzylorda you will be transferred to Baikonur. Glimpse into the past and future of space history at the Museum of History of Space Travels, Memorials of Outdated Spaceships and Protons, International Space School, Memorials of the Airplanes AN-12, I1-14 and where Yuri Gagarin and Korolev once lived.

    Get up close to rocket machineries, space shuttles and space suits at Baikonur Spaceport Museum and Buran Spaceship. Visit the launch site of Gagarinsky Start. If you visit during the rocket launch date, you get to witness an actual space launch live!

    Please note that your exact itinerary depends on your desired date of visit, as your programme may be re-tailored around the actual timing of the rocket launch which can be confirmed closer to date.
