Amantaka - Luang Prabang city tour

This private tour can either take place in the morning (08:30-11:30) or in the afternoon (13:30-17:30) and takes in the highlights of Luang Prabang with one of Amantaka's guides. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best preserved traditional town in Southeast Asia, walk through the city's winding streets witness local life and historic Lao-French buildings interspersed with the grand temples of the city.
From the hotel guests are taken first to Wat Visoun an Wat Aham where the "watermelon stupa" That Makmo dating back to 1503AD resides. Following the Nam Khan River, flanked by small vegetable gardens you will head towards Mount Phousi at the heart of the city and on to famous Wat Xieng Thong, "The temple of the golden city".
Your guide will then lead you to the golden Buddha at Wat Sene, Vat Nong and The National Museum at the Royal Palace (designed by the French colonial administration) further down the Mekong. It is here you will see the Pra Bang (golden Buddha statue and namesake of the city).
Finally, before returning to Amantaka, Wat Mai is your last stop. With a five-tiered red roof and golden facade it is one of the most impressive of Luang Prabang's temples.
