Due to temperatures and precipitation, Delhi and much of northern India can be an extreme place to visit during certain months of the year. The hottest months of the year are May and June, during which time temperatures can get up to 40°C. The coldest months are from December until February whilst the monsoon season is from the end of May through to August. During this time although the temperature cools, the humidity is very high, and rainstorms are frequent. It is not advised to visit during these months.
Ladakh is normally only open for tourists only during the summer months of May to September. However for special experiences and expeditions it is possible to access the region during other harsher months. The weather of Ladakh remains cold and chilly for most part of the year. Winter usually lasts from October to May and its usually very cold. During these months the whole area is covered with snow. Monsoon season experiences rainfall but due to the land slides, the area is closed. The temperature is cool and can go up to 33°C.

Day 1: A Gentle Arrival
After your long journey, Delhi welcomes you with the stillness of The Oberoi, a calm retreat framed by gardens and glass. Watch the city’s pulse from your suite, the hum of traffic softened to a distant rhythm. Take time to rest, reset, and savour the feeling of arrival in a country that will awaken every sense.
Day 2: Two Cities, One Soul
Begin in New Delhi, where boulevards and colonial grandeur tell stories of empire and independence. Later, the tempo shifts, Old Delhi explodes into colour and sound. You’ll rattle through its labyrinth of spice-scented lanes in a rickshaw, before stepping into the golden calm of Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. In the temple’s community kitchen, stir pots beside Sikh volunteers, joining locals in a moving act of service and connection, an experience that lingers long after you leave.

Day 3: Among the Clouds
The flight to Leh feels like crossing into another world, glaciers and serrated peaks rolling beneath you before landing in the crisp mountain air of Ladakh. At The Grand Dragon, panoramic windows frame snow-tipped ridges while warm Ladakhi décor and gentle hospitality welcome you to altitude. Spend the day gently, sip butter tea, wander the bazaar, and let the slower rhythm of mountain life settle around you.
Day 4: Spirit of the Monasteries
As dawn breaks, the sound of monks chanting fills Thiksey Monastery, a sea of crimson robes bathed in morning light. Join their prayers, then explore the sacred Indus Valley, where ancient gompas cling to cliffs and fluttering prayer flags mirror the shifting winds. Pause for tea in a family home and hear stories of a life lived close to the land, moments that reveal Ladakh’s quiet soul.
Day 5: Heritage Among the Hills
Today you delve deeper into the region’s royal and spiritual legacy. Visit Shey Palace, once the summer retreat of Ladakh’s kings, its hilltop views stretching endlessly across the valley. Back in Leh, stroll through the town’s lively markets, where the scent of apricots and silver jewellery fills the air. As night falls, the temperature drops and the stars sharpen into focus, a glittering canopy above this mountain kingdom.

This is the heart of your journey, deep in the remote folds of the Himalayas, where the elusive snow leopard roams. Days here are filled with the quiet thrill of the search. At dawn, you’ll set out with expert trackers who read the snow like a story, a pawprint, a distant call, a flicker of movement on a ridge. Each day builds anticipation, until suddenly, there it is, a pale shape among the cliffs, poised and powerful. It’s a moment of stillness you’ll never forget.
Yet the experience is about more than the leopard itself. In between tracking, you’ll share tea with shepherds in stone huts, watch eagles soar over frozen ridges, and listen to tales of mountain spirits beside the fire. Evenings are spent cocooned in comfort at the lodge, warmed by Ladakhi hospitality and the hum of conversation, the kind of contented quiet that only follows true adventure.

Day 11: Return to Stillness
After days in the wilderness, Leh feels softer, almost surreal. Take it slow, perhaps a final visit to Shanti Stupa, where golden light spills over the valley below. There’s time for a final stroll through town, savouring dumplings and butter tea before the journey home begins.
Day 12: Farewell to the Himalayas
As your flight lifts over the mountains, you glance back at the world you’ve just walked through, the monasteries, the peaks, the rarest of encounters. India has a way of staying with you, long after you’ve left its soil.
