Magnificent views over the River Ken from the dining area, where you can enjoy the stunning sunsets
Enveloped by wildlife, you needn't even move from the comfort of your cottage to experience it
The Sarai at Toria was set up by a husband and wife partnership Joanna and Raghu who have visions for conservation and a passion for wildlife. They are both also enthusiastic foodies so the cuisine here is a major focus of their hospitality.
The property is based on the Ken River amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside which stretches out for as far as the eye can see from the homely little cottages that you will be staying in. There are options for alfresco dining all around the property and lovely hideaway areas for reading and relaxing in the small patch of forest behind the cottages.
Some people may prefer to laze around at The Sarai at Torai, soaking up the landscape and wandering around the surrounding area spotting all the magnificent wild life. For others there are all sorts of interesting options for exploration and adventure within a stone's throw of the camp, such as village walks, boat trips up the river, bird watching walks and game drives in Panna National Park which is only 5-minutes away by Jeep.
The Sarai at Toria was designed to celebrate nature and the traditional style of the local people. As such your cottage is made entirely out of mud, with a thatched roof in keeping with the surrounding area. Your room has no air conditioning but will stay cool throughout the year due to the lovely thick mud walls. The property remains small and personal, hosted with a community feel by Joanna and Raghu, who encourage everyone to gather for drinks before supper and dine together on their delicious home grown organic food.
