Robberg Peninsula Walk

Garden Route, South Africa

The Robberg Peninsula is an outcrop of land from the western side of Plettenberg Bay. The Peninsula is now a nature reserve and a marine protected area which makes for spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna.

Permits do need to be purchased at the main entrance to the reserve and from there, guests can either explore the peninsula themselves or take a guided tour of the reserve.

A hike to the southernmost point of the reserve and back takes about 3 and a half hours along winding pathways carved into the cliff faces. Along the walk, look out for the rare blue duiker, a small antelope that lives in the thickets on the peninsula. Once you reach the southernmost point, try and spot the Cape Fur Seals or look out for the Southern Right Whales and Bottlenose dolphin further out to sea.
