Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Buenos Aires and the Iguazu Falls are year round destinations, with pleasant temperatures. January and February are usually the hottest months whilst the winter months (June and July) tend to be cooler and wetter.
You can expect plenty of sunshine almost all year round in Mendoza, with a similar dip in temperatures in winter months.
Patagonia is best visited from November to March when temperatures are milder but visitors should be prepared for strong winds and changeable weather at any time. It is worth considering travelling outside this time, especially rewarding in April (for autumn colours) or October (for spring flowers) because winds can drop significantly and there are fewer visitors in the National Parks. May to September is winter and many hotels in Southern Patagonia close for the season.

Straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil, your next stop is the awe-inspiring spectacle of Iguazu Falls. After a morning flight, we’ll transfer you across the border to your hotel on the Brazilian side of the falls. The spectacular Belmond Hotel Das Cataratas is the stand-out option at the falls as it offers unrivalled access to the national park on the Brazilian side after it’s closed to other visitors. Unwind in the tropical grounds of the property with a drink, and wait until the crowds have dispersed to soak up the spray of the falls with few others around. The following day, you will feel the full force of Iguazu as you spend the whole day engulfed in the Argentine side, which is blessed with about 80% of the falls. An intricate network of paved trails and catwalks wind their way around the falls and bring you within touching distance of the water. The undisputed highlight is the Devil’s Throat, where several cascades join together to create an unimaginable thundering display. You could while away the whole day simply wandering these revitalising walkways, or for an even more immersive experience, take a boat ride right under the falls or treat yourself to a helicopter flight overhead to end your holiday on a true high.
