Few places in Argentine Patagonia put you this close to the ice. Moreno Camp sits on the Península de las Colonias, a private peninsula inside Los Glaciares National Park, with Perito Moreno Glacier just 12 kilometers across Brazo Rico. Most visitors see the glacier from the national park walkways and leave. Guests here wake up to it, spend the day with it, and fall asleep to the sound of ice cracking across the water.
The camp's geodesic eco-domes are elevated on boardwalks that protect the native forest floor, with solar power running the site entirely off-grid. Each dome sleeps two or three guests in a queen bed with wood-burning stove, full private bathroom, and a hot shower built for the end of a long day in the wind. There are no room categories or upgrades here, every dome faces the same horizon. Chef Martín Lukesch runs a fire-led kitchen that follows the season and the weather: clay-oven roasts, slow braises, and asado served with a rotating selection of Patagonian wines on open bar.
Two programs frame the stay. The Essential program suits guests who want to arrive, slow down, and let the glacier set the pace, with hammocks above Brazo Rico, a Lago Roca picnic, and nothing on the schedule but the light. The Discovery program layers in daily guided expeditions: the Cerro de los Cristales trek, the Pioneros boat navigation beneath Perito Moreno's ice walls, and evening access to the national park walkways after the day visitors have gone. The Ice Hike, crossing Brazo Rico by boat and trekking the glacier itself in crampons, can be added to either program. For guests planning an Argentine Patagonia vacation that goes beyond Eolo and Estancia Cristina, Moreno Camp is a category of its own.
