Wine Tasting in Lujan de Cuyo

Lujan de Cuyo is the main Malbec area and is where the greatest Argentinean Malbecs are grown, and some of the most traditional wineries are located. The climate and soil here are perfect to allow the Malbec grape to fully express and develop itself, creating some truly delicious wines.
First stop is Bodega Achaval-Ferrer which has represented Mendoza in the Wine Spectator‘s list of Top 100 wines on multiple occasions. The winery is located at the edge of the Mendoza River amongst vineyards almost 100 years old and is both cosy and modern. Their unique production methods make for a dynamic and interesting visit. From here, you will stop at Bodega Casarena and enjoy tasting a variety of premium wines from all of the different stages of production – fermentation, oak barrels, and finally the wines from labelled bottles, gaining an understanding of how the wine evolves throughout the winemaking process.
Then last but not least is Bodega Dominio del Plata, which is equipped with modern technology and known for its simple and unique design. There is an excellent restaurant on site and you will be invited to join in with a long five-course lunch, with wine pairings complementing each dish.
