To start planning your holiday to Canvas Club

The most glamorous camping option in Oman, Canvas Club offers an exciting and luxurious way to get off the beaten track, without having to compromise on comfort. Enjoy a night or two amongst the golden dunes of Wahiba Sands in your own private camp.

Canvas Club brings a new level of luxury to private camping in Oman. The bedroom tents are spacious, with comfortable proper beds made up with luxurious linen. There is wonderful attention to detail in the decor, with ornate rugs, lanterns and cushions adorning the interior.

There is a separate bathroom tent. A sophisticated system allows guests to enjoy hot water showers, and there is also a wash basin which provides running water via a foot pump. There is a camping loo with a chemical flush system and the floor is lined with wooden tiles for that extra element of comfort.

The main tent, known as the majlis, is lined with beautiful Arabian designed cushions. This is the perfect place to enjoy a cool drink and a game of cards after a day's adventures. The camp cannot provide alcohol, but guests are welcome to bring their own which can be cooled and served.

The camp has its own chef who will prepare delicious evening meals which can be served in the majlis, or on tables under the stars. There is also a camp manager on hand should guests require anything.

During the day, a private driver/guide will be able to take guests to sites of interest in the surrounding area, such as traditional villages, or lush green wadis on the edge of the desert. The camp can provide packed lunches if required.

The tents vary in size but can usually accommodate two adults and two children, making this a good option for both couples and families. They are decorated with tasteful furnishings, including intricately designed rugs and cushions. There are proper beds with crisp linen, and colourful lanterns provide a magical atmosphere in the evenings.

There are no specific child care facilities, but families are welcome.

Guests can explore the surrounding area with their private driver/guide. From the desert, we recommend visiting the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid, where it is possible to swim in the deep water, or even jump in from the rocks above. We can also organise camel rides, and the drivers are always delighted to show off their dune bashing skills!

  • Al Hayer Falls

Get off the beaten track to explore the Al Hayer area of the popular Wadi Bani Khalid. This stretch of the canyon is away from the more frequently visited pools, offering hours of fun-filled adventure.

  • Lunch with a Bedouin Family

Whilst life in the desert may seem like a harsh environment, many people still choose this as their home. Visit the house of a Bedouin family, where you can enjoy a traditional lunch and learn more about their day to day life and culture.

  • Nizwa Friday Market

Visit the local Friday market in Nizwa.

  • Wadi Shab Swimming Adventure

Stop off at a wadi and enjoy the beautiful surroundings where you can enjoy a gentle walk, or even a swim in the water.
