Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Due to temperatures and precipitation, Delhi can be an extreme place to visit during certain months of the year. The hottest months of the year are May and June, during which time the average temperature is 39. The coldest months are from December until February, during which time the average low temperatures are in the 20's. The monsoon season is from the end of May through to July, during this time the humidity is very high, and rainstorms are frequent. It is not advised to visit during these months.

The most comfortable climate in Delhi is found during the months leading into summer (February into April), and again trailing the monsoon season (October and November).

Itinerary

Ideal as a first introduction, explore northern India on this week-long trip. From Delhi through Agra and ending in Jaipur, this itinerary takes in all the romance of Rajasthan and is the perfect start a lasting love affair with this beautiful country.

  1. Days 1-3: Delhi

Your journey begins in Delhi which acts as your gateway to India and where you will spend your first two nights. Pass your mornings visiting Humayun's Tomb, the Qutb Minar and wandering through the bustling markets of Chandni Chowk. In the afternoons you can take time to find your feet and relax, before venturing out to dinner in one of Delhiā€™s fantastic restaurants which your consultant can of course assist with for recommendations.

    Accommodation: The Claridges (2 nights)

  2. Days 3-4: Agra

From Delhi, you will continue to Agra which can be reached by car or train. Trains are of course a staple in India and the Shatabdi Express train from Delhi to Agra takes around two hours on one of the fastest trains in India. One of the main reasons to visit Agra is the chance to see the Taj Mahal, which is every bit as impressive as its hype and an incredible monument to undying love. Besides this world-famous site, there is plenty to be explored with numerous forts and tombs as relics from the Mughal empire.

Accommodation: ITC Mughal Agra (1 night)

  3. Days 4-7: Jaipur

From Agra to Jaipur, you will take a scenic 4-5 hour drive through the stunning countryside of Rajasthan, which would be a mistake to miss. This is a chance to explore the more rural side of life passing through small villages and agricultural landscapes. Jaipur is not only the capital state of Rajasthan but a cultural gem in the region. Known as the Pink City this is the heart of the textile industry and an area famous for its silver, making it a perfect place to end your trip with plenty of opportunity for shopping.  Apart from exploring the markets, sites that you can take in including Hawa Mahal Palace, City Palace and the Jal Mahal.

Every Scott Dunn itinerary can be tailored to your needs and if these properties or activities are not exactly to your taste we can of court tailor the itinerary to suit you perfectly.
