The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian holiday week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are cheapest.

A visit to the Maldives is incomplete without experiencing the realms of the underwater world. Being one of the best diving destinations in the world, the Maldives offers diving opportunities for the beginner as well as for the more experienced diver. As one of the very few resorts in the Maldives to be surrounded by a spectacular house reef, Constance Moofushi has excellent opportunities for all abilities. Corals and a plethora of reef fish including stingrays, sea cucumbers, lionfish, snappers and eels are all on view metres from the resort. The best site, The Main Reef, lies on the eastern side of the island just a few meters off the beach. It faces a channel where fish and mammals (including migratory species such as Manta's, Whale Sharks, Dolphins and Sea eagles) pass right by. There are table corals as large as 3 feet in diameter that are easily visible, surrounded by hundreds of fish. Many other beautiful coral types and colourful fish glide languidly along the sea bed.
You don’t have to be a diver to enjoy the fascinating underwater world of Maldives. A snorkel, mask and fin is your passport to enrich your holiday experience and to encounter different species of playful fish, turtles, and other curious creatures that may be residing in the house reef.

Constance Moofushi has such a lovely, relaxed, laidback, barefoot luxury feel with a fantastic atmosphere. Being a seaplane journey from Male, it feels really secluded and has some fantastic snorkelling sites - both on the house reef and nearby. I went on a snorkelling boat trip and saw loads of turtles and a shark which was really exciting! 'All-inclusive' doesn't always conjure up the best images, but Moofushi doesn't lose its feeling of exclusivity because it's still a premium property, so you can really indulge and feel like you are getting the exclusivity of the Maldives, while not worrying about how much you are eating (or drinking!). The villas are really tastefully decorated, the service is really friendly and the beaches are beautiful.

From the moment your seaplane touches down you can literally feel yourself unwinding. The super relaxed Constance Moofushi works on an all-inclusive basis so you can order a poolside snack or delicious cocktail from the funky Manta bar without a second thought. The villas all have gorgeous, rustic chic interiors with fantastic in-room entertainment systems. There is lots to do, don't miss the brilliant diving and snorkelling on offer or indulge at the spa, with open sided rooms looking out to sea so you can enjoy the breeze as you are pampered.
