Bird Watching by the Zambezi
Around the lodge itself you will find a variety of resident birds such as parrots, lovebirds, cuckoos, shrikes, owls, starlings and coucaals. The surrounding terrain varies from escarpement and riverine to wetland and bushveld and contains many raptors, vultures, rollers, pheasants, bee eaters and ground hornbills. Along the tributaries you might be lucky enough to see kingfishers, skimmers, herons, carmine bee-eaters, waders and plovers. In short the Lower Zambezi valley is definitely a spot you want to pack your binoculars for.
