Description

Set in the heart of the chic village of St Moritz, the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains is the pinnacle of five star glamour, elegance and service. Beautifully styled and rich in tradition, it is the perfect place from which to ski this famous resort.

Chic and cosmopolitan, St Moritz is a gateway to over 350 kilometers of slopes in nine different skiing areas, and some of the finest skiing in Switzerland. The Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains enjoys one of the best locations in this famous village, immediately opposite the Corviglia cable car, allowing access to the vast ski terrain in less than 10 minutes, and at the end of the Hahnensee run. The hotel even has its own ski school.

The luxurious 136 rooms and 48 suites offer a generous living space and all the Spa Suites have a balcony or terrace with panoramic mountain views. The leisure facilities at the hotel are fantastic, including an indoor heated pool with views of the surrounding mountains, the Kempinski Spa offering an array of indulgent treatments, a beauty salon and a well-equipped gym which offers fitness classes.

Choose from an array of restaurants - Les Saisons for breakfast and à la carte in the evening where the specialty is steak; Cà d’Oro serving exquisite Mediterranean cuisine, for which it has been awarded a Michelin star or Enoteca for modern Alpine dishes and wine tasting. New to the Kempinski is the Sra Bua, an Asian restaurant specializing in sashimi and sushi, with an amazing sake collection. For a romantic evening, you should head for Lej sa Staz, an intimate restaurant of the shores of Lake Staz.

For those not skiing, or who enjoy a pamper after a day on the mountain, the Kempinski The Spa with its glacial water is a truly relaxing place. The indoor heated pool has fabulous views of the surrounding mountains and it features a range of saunas, gym, sun terrace, a Ladies Spa and offers an extensive list of treatments.

The hotel’s 160sqm children's club is spread over two levels caring for children from two years upwards, entertaining them with a wide range of fun and educational activities and includes a supervised early children’s tea.

This is a stunning hotel with top notch five star service. I was amazed at how stress free a ski vacation can be in this hotel. With ski hire in the hotel and even the ski school meeting point in the foyer - everything is so easy!

The rooms are to a standard you would expect from a Kempinski hotel - a good size, neutrally decorated with large bathrooms. The public spaces are large but with lovely cosy corners. The open fire in the center of the bar area is the perfect place to defrost after a day on the slopes.

Although this hotel is not in the center of the resort, a regular shuttle bus sweeps you off to the center within minutes.

A visit to the spa is a must - if you have any energy left, they even have fitness studios or you can hire a personal trainer!
