Whilst Phuket is well-known for its buzzing nightlife, and often busy beaches, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas boasts a tranquil location to the north of the island away from the crowds. With only a small handful of resorts in this area, the sandy beach feels wonderfully secluded, and yet there are plenty of activities available to keep guests busy should they wish.
The hotel's 91 pool villas are set back from the beach, dotted around the resort and beside the lagoon, ensuring plenty of privacy. The decor is inspired by Thai architecture, with spacious indoor and outdoor areas. All of the villas also have good-sized private pools.
Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas offers a wide choice of gourmet dining options, including Thai, tapas and seafood barbecue. As well as a lovely beachfront infinity pool, facilities include an excellent spa, bicycles, tennis courts, gym and cooking school. You can even try your hand at Muay Thai with a professional instructor, and there are yoga and aerobics classes. There are also non-d watersports, including windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. Families are well catered for, with tailored activities and a great Kids Club.
All of Anantara's 83 Pool Villas have indoor and outdoor rain showers, an outdoor terrazzo bathtub and hardwood sundeck with loungers. Inside every personal comfort is taken care of with iPod docking stations, wifi, LCD TV and DVD and espresso machines. The Pool Villas are closest to the spa, the Garden Pool Villas are set in the resort's gardens, The Lagoon Pool Villas are closest to the beach and main facilities and Sala Lagoon Villas have the addition of private salas built over the lagoon.
Pool villas are dotted all around the resort and each comes with its own hardwood sun deck with a private pool. They can be configured with either a king bed or twin beds and they feature a deep terrazzo tub for two as well as both indoor and outdoor rain showers

Located alongside the lagoon edge, these villas feature a sun deck with private pool, a terazzo tub for two, indoor and outdoor rain showers and can be configured as either a king or twin.

The Sala Pool Villas is spread around the edge of the lagoon. It has one king bedroom and is extremely private with a personalized villa host service.

Located on the picturesque lagoon, these villas have 240sqm of space and feature a master bedroom with a king bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. There is a private pool and sun deck.

Children are very welcome at Anantara where the Turtle Club gets them involved in arts and crafts, nature activities and games. Babysitting is also available.
La Sala offers wonderful fresh cuisine with Thai and Mediterranean flavors while Sea Fire Salt is perfect for beachside seafood. The Tree House bar is built around an old Banyan Tree and serves Thai tapas and Infinity Bar has healthy fresh food and great cocktails. For a formal dinner eat in The Tasting Room where each course is complemented by the perfect wine or have a romantic private meal at your desired location. There is also a spa, infinity pool, fully equipped gym and 3 tennis courts.
Anantara offers non-d water sports such as sailing, kayaks and windsurfers. There is also yoga, aerobics, Thai cooking classes and mountain biking ranging from short routes to full day tours with a picnic.
Location & Directions
Anantara Phuket is situated on Mai Khao, Phuket’s longest beach, located on the northwest coast and fringed by the undisturbed jungle of Sirinath National Park.
When to go
Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
