Located in the heart of Banff National Park and within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is an iconic sight, much photographed as it towers over this most stunning of Rocky Mountains lakes. Accommodations vary from more simple and elegant through to stunning suites with panoramic views of the lake. Families can enjoy interconnecting rooms or suites and the Fairmont Gold Floor offers the ultimate in exclusive luxury and a discreet lounge with lake views.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has 550 rooms and suites in total. Fairmont and Deluxe Rooms are available with and without lake views. Junior Suites, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites as well as the stunning Belvedere Lake View Suite are also available.
All rooms feature a TV, coffee maker, in room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and opening windows. In addition, suites also feature CD players, bar refrigerators, mini stereo, nightly turndown service and refreshment center.
Younger guests are very welcome and suites and interconnecting rooms are available for families.
There are special children's menus and children under the age of 5 years can dine for free from the children's menu.
Children will love the pool and there is also a playroom to enjoy for the younger ones. During the summer, regular kids activities are arranged including Saturday night slumber parties, kids hikes, baking sessions with the hotel chefs, photo expedition, canoe trips, afternoon tea with teddy bears, painting lessons, Geo Cache hunts, teddy bear building, horse riding trips and kids campfire and cookouts. All these activities attract an additional charge and may be restricted to certain ages

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has six restaurants - Fairview Dining Room, Walliser Stube, Poppy Brasserie, Victoria Dining Room, Lago Italian Restaurant and Chateau Deli. There are also two lounges, Lake View Lounge and Glacier Saloon.
The hotel also has a health club and spa, an indoor swimming pool, internet access, a boutique shopping mall, a children's playroom and a business center.
The Fairmont Gold Club Floor is a hotel within a hotel on the 7th Floor. The dedicated team offers concierge services that look after your every need. Guests can unwind in the exclusive Club floor lounge where throughout the day you can enjoy coffee, tea, an honour bar as well as complimentary cocktail canapés shared in equal measure with the tales of the day's adventures between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. Be sure to start your day off perfectly with a healthy and bountiful continental breakfast, including hot items, served between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Scenic mountain walking and hiking are a major attraction in the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake region of Banff National Park. Many trails radiate from the lake into nearby passes and summits, and outings are available through the hotel's mountaineering and interpretive-hiking program. The hotel offers canoe rentals and instruction (surcharge).
Horse riding, fishing, kayaking, wildlife viewing, tennis, mountain biking and river rafting are all available close by.
The challenging Banff Springs Golf Course (62 km/38.5 mi) winds along the Bow River under the snow-capped peaks of Sulphur Mountain and Mount Rundle.
In winter guests can ice skate on the lake, enjoy miles of cross country ski trails, snow shoe, downhill ski close by and enjoy snowmobile excursions. Horse-drawn sleigh rides around the lake, waterfall ice climbing, and dog sledding are other popular pursuits available nearby.

When to go
Alberta has a dry continental climate with warm summers and cold winters, making it a year round destination. The ski season is from December to March and the summer season from May to September. At any time of year you can expect the sun to be out. Winters can get cold, when the temperature can plummet to a bone chilling -20°C. Summers tend to be hot and dry, with the warmest months being July and August, where the temperature sits at a comfortable 25°C.
