Average time to visit
Kalimantan is hot and humid year-round, with minimal fluctuation in temperature. The monsoon season runs from November to March, with a lighter rainy season from March to May. May is one of the hottest months and leads into the dry season, from June to October. Orangutans can be spotted in the Tanjung Puting National Park throughout the year, however those visiting between March and April may see lower numbers at feeding times due to the abundance of fruit in the forest. The orangutan camps during wet season are a lot less busy, but there is the risk of heavy rainfall.
