The Upper House is a stylish and intimate city hotel with a warm, friendly atmosphere, located on Pacific Place, a stone's throw from the harbour and centrally located on Hong Kong Island.
With its understated residential calmness, The Upper House is an oasis of tranquillity amidst the quickened pace of Hong Kong. Natural materials, distinctive sculptures and original artwork all contribute to the intimate, inviting atmosphere, while contemporary design and lavish amenities assure an unmatched level of comfort.
Renowned architect Andre Fu, has created rooms to convey calm and comfort. Starting at 730 sq. ft., the 117 rooms - including 21 suites and two penthouses - are some of the most spacious in Hong Kong and many boast panoramic views of the Victoria Harbour.
Dining is a highlight at the Upper House, starting with the new dining concept, Salisterra. Calling upon the culinary mastermind of London-based, Michelin starred chef, Jun Tanaka, the menu takes an expressive and seasonal approach with fresh, vibrant flavours that draw inspiration from the coastal cuisines of France and Italy resulting in simple, sophisticated and sustainable gastronomic creations. A thoughtfully curated cocktail and wine menu is also available and explores smaller, sustainable producers and celebrates the historical significance of the Mediterranean vineyards.
For an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, retreat to the Lawn, a secret and secluded garden boasting (as the name suggests) a lush green lawn, which provides a stark contrast with the surrounding cityscape. Sink into a beanbag with a cocktail in hand and enjoy this hidden haven in the heart of Hong Kong.
Experience a quieter, more personal side of urban travel and indulge in the soothing pleasures of this Hong Kong Island hotel.
The Upper House has 117 Rooms, including 21 Suites and two Penthouses. The rooms start from level 38 giving them either harbor or Island views. The décor is very calming with wood panelling and beige and earth tones. Bathrooms are spacious with tubs, rains showers, a TV and city views. All rooms have walk-in wardrobes, Wi-Fi, an iPod Touch, dual temperature wine fridge, free maxibar snacks, soft drinks and beer, espresso machine, yoga mat and Ren toiletries.
Children are welcome to stay at the Upper House, and cots and extra beds are available free of charge. Babysitting can be arranged but note that there is no swimming pool.
Every Saturday and Sunday, enjoy an al fresco Yoga session with Wayne Yeh, the hotel's expert master, in the secluded tranquillity of The Lawn. For fitness fanatics, there is a gym fully equipped with Precor and Keiser machines and equipment.
Salisterra is the hotel's latest dining concept. A modern venue offering wonderful views of Victoria Harbour and a menu of tempting Mediterranean cuisine.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in; the attention to detail is unimaginable and the staff really do make you feel at home. The views in every room over the river or the mountains are breathtaking and the warm milk and home made cookies in the room after returning from the day's activities came as lovely surprise. My stay here really did exceed every high expectation I had.

The Upper House is a truly special hotel in Hong Kong setting itself apart with its intimate 'at home' feel. The attention to detail from all the staff was incredible with lots of little added extras to make your stay that much more relaxing and enjoyable such as a complimentary car service in the surrounding area of the hotel and complimentary mini (actually maxi in size) bar in each room. The hotel does not have the same array of facilities as the larger hotels in Hong Kong but that is definitely made up for in service and all the extras.

The Upper House offers a welcoming change to the big typical 'city' hotels so well known in the city of Hong Kong. With only 117 rooms, the hotel has an intimate feel and is very boutique in style. Starting on the 38th floor, the well-designed bedrooms offer extremely comfy beds, with crisp white linens and extremely spacious bathrooms; either with a city or harbour view. If budget allows, then I would highly recommend checking-in to one of their harbour view rooms - being so high up the views are sensational! The Upper House is definitely one for the trend-setters.
