Snowshoeing in Finnish Lapland
A snowshoe is a form of footwear designed for walking over the snow, making hiking and exploring in Lapland easier to navigate. Your guide will demonstrate how to use your shoes, which ensure your weight is distributed over a larger area so you do not sink in any deep snow. This sensation is commonly known as "flotation". You will then be taken in to the wilderness, along some local trails, to fully immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery.
Traditionally, snowshoes were made of wood, however most modern snowshoes are made of lighter materials such as plastic.
