Helsinki

Helsinki is Finland's capital, a modern city surrounded by water on three sides. After Copenhagen and Stockholm, it's the third largest city in the Nordic nations. The city is easy to explore on foot and houses a collection of impressive buildings such as the Uspenski Cathedral. There is also a vast amount of coastline, forest and lakes surrounding the city to discover.

Helsinki

Helsinki is a new city in European terms, and its oldest buildings are just 250 years old. Centred around the elegant Esplanadi Square you will find designer shops, grand squares and excellent restaurants.

Helsinki was chosen to be the World Design Capital for 2012 and a tour of the city will often focus on its reputation as a centre for design and designers. Marimekko, Iittala and Artek are among the most famous names of Finnish design.
