Average time to visit
The Sierra Nevada can be visited year-round but the cloudforest has two rainy seasons which generally run from May to June and from September to November. The best time to visit is between December and March which coincides with most other destinations within Colombia. It is worth noting that it can rain at any time of year due to the tropical climate.
December to January is the best season for birdwatching as many migratory species return to the forest.
