The Moremi is rich in wildlife, including good populations of buffalo, elephant, spotted hyena and the big cats - lion, leopard and cheetah. You should also keep a lookout for the exceptional hunters, the African wild dog, who travel vast distances each day - the chance to watch them is one of Africa's most sought-after wildlife encounters. The reserve is also an iconic spot for birdwatchers, who can enjoy opportunities to see a wide range of endangered birdlife from the coppery-tailed coucal to the luapula cisticolain in the swamp areas, as well as more common species including the African fish eagle and yellow-billed stork in the open water areas.
Your safari here will take the form of game-drives, which is the best way to encounter the larger wildlife species and give you the chance to explore most fully. You will be staying in simple but comfortable walk-in tents, measuring 3 x 4 metres (9 x 13 feet), with an ensuite bathroom with long drop toilet and bucket shower to the back. You will sleep on solid-based camp beds with mattresses, pillows and duvets, and towels are also provided, although toiletries such as shampoo are not.
