Located on the Halkidiki Peninsula, Eagles resort is a fantastic family friendly destination overlooking the Aegean. Offering both hotel and villa accommodation and home to an Explorers kids club, Eagles Palace and Eagles Villas are ideal for sun-seeking families. Mediterranean expert, Katherine Gotla, shares why the resort is the perfect place for the ultimate summer getaway.
From the moment we arrived at Eagles Resort, it was clear to see why it is such a popular resort and the reasons why Scott Dunn guests love it here!
- The setting
The views are just stunning and from so much of the resort, you get a 180-degree vista out to sea and the neighboring islands. Each villa affords this view and many of the rooms too. From sunrise to sunset – you could stare out to sea all day!
- The beach
The water is so blue and clear. Whether you have paddling toddlers or swimming-mad adults – this is the beach for you. Sun loungers stretch as far as the eye can see, with the added bonus of a sun lounger for every guest, so there is no need to get up at dawn to reserve your spot! The pièce de résistance was a call button on my parasol, so as soon as I got thirsty, I could simply press a button and someone arrived to take my drinks order without even having to put my book down or getting sand between my toes.
There is something for everyone here. Choose a family suite with connecting rooms or opt for the recently opened, Eagles Villas. In my opinion, they are the best option as they offer varying numbers of bedrooms, heated pools and those incredible views I mentioned earlier! There is outdoor dining available so if you fancy room service one evening there is really no reason to leave all day! Some have a garden, which are great for little ones wanting to have a play or kick a ball around.
- Explorers kids club
Toni and her fabulous team run the Scott Dunn Explorers kids club for children from 4 months upwards and make sure they are kept comfortable, safe and entertained at all times. For older children there is the Aqua Explorers club, which makes use of the fabulous beach and the water sports equipment. Running weekly for a few hours each day, it gives kids the opportunity to try lots of different activities, trying their hand at being the next Ben Ainslie.
- Pavlos at Explore the Outside
Explore Outside offers all sorts of activities from hiking and biking to water sports. The water sports are some of the best activities on offer here and the equipment is available all day for hire or for lessons. You can even take a boat out to the nearby island without a skipper; perfect for a private picnic lunch, with only the island’s goats for company.
And the only reason I can think not to go…. You will definitely not want to come home!
