The south of Portugal has a mild climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The weather is generally warm and sunny in May with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. Throughout the summer months it can be windy especially during the afternoon. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.

Choose between aromatherapy, phytotherapy or Ayurvedic massage, and unwind in the Turkish bath. Alternatively, start the day with a yoga class followed by a dip in the outdoor pool. In the afternoon, take one of the hotel's bicycles with a packed picnic or go surfing with gear from the hotel's partner on the beach. After only a couple of nights here, you'll feel relaxed and rejuvenated with a renewed appreciation of and connection with the ocean - Portuguese style.
Each of the hotel's fourteen rooms has a stunning and individual design with a focus on Scandinavian inspired minimalism combined with Turkish and Moroccan flourishes. The hotel's natural ethos is evident in beautifully designed driftwood furniture which is complemented by cosy fabrics and antique fittings. All rooms but one share a view of the sea and the dunes, and feature a private patio or deck, a wood burning stove or fireplace. It is worth noting that none of the rooms come with a TV - if you want one you will need to request this on booking.
Across the road from the main building the hotel also has six three-bedroom villas and two three-bedroom townhouses, all of which are split over several floors with large living rooms, private outdoor pools and barbecue areas.
The restaurant at Areias do Seixo prides itself on its sustainable, eco-friendly approach to cuisine. Using local produce, herbs from the garden and fresh fish from the nearby market, the restaurant produces typically Portuguese dishes with a contemporary twist. Inspired by the more simple cuisine of the 40s, 50s and 60s, the menu focuses on flavour and often changes according to the fresh produce available.
