Average time to visit
Vienna is fun to visit all the year round. In the summer the weather tends to be warm and sunny, and in the winter snow is likely, making the city all the more beautiful. December is a great time to go to visit the city's Christmas Markets. 5 December is National Sachertorte Day!

Description
This beautiful traditional hotel is a landmark building in historic Vienna. Founded in 1876, this old building has been recently renovated to a high standard, with modern touches but still incorporating the traditional Austrian style.
The Hotel Sacher is in perfect location, right opposite the State Opera House and close to the Hofburg Palace and the Spanish Riding School. From here it's easy to explore the shops and museums of Vienna as well as the royal palaces and parks.
Of course at the end of the day, you can enjoy a coffee and a slice of beautiful Sacher torte, Austria's favourite type of chocolate cake, invented by Austrian Franz Sacher in 1832 for Prince Wenzel von Metternich in Vienna, Austria.
Franz's son, Eduard, opened the Sacher Hotel in 1876, and ever since then it's been the best known hotel in the city, frequently by politicians, celebrities, and VIPs.
Still in private hands and family-run, the hotel is lavishly furnished. Home to over 1000 paintings and countless antiques and artefacts, it's almost like staying in a museum. Guests at the Sacher really feel part of the city's rich cultural history.
Accommodation
The rooms and suites (which make up over a third of the hotel's accommodation units) are beautifully decorated in a belle époque style and range from 30 square metres to an enormous 165 square metres. They combine the latest modern amenities with a traditional look. Antiques and marble bathrooms abound, and the top two floors feature rooms with fabulous city views.
Childcare
The Sacher Hotel runs a 'Sacher Kids' programme: kids get a welcome gift, special amenities, a kids' menu, and babysitting is available.
Facilities
Austrian and international specialties are served in the hotel's two gourmet restaurants. The legendary Blaue Bar is the perfect place to sample a pre-theatre aperitif. And of course no visit to Vienna would be complete without a taste of the original Sacher Torte.
