Ethnic Groups of Northern Laos

The first villages the trek explores are home to the Ikhos people; this ethnic group originates from Yunnan in China and Tibet. Here you can learn all about their unique customs, traditions and houses before enjoying a picnic lunch. The trek continues approximately 20 minutes to a Hmong village. This ethnic group originates from the high steppes of Laos and Tibet and they are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. We recommend learning a few words to communicate with the children! It's interesting to see how the two minority groups differ in their dress, traditions and customs and the outstanding views make this trek incredibly unique.
