Average time to visit

Hokkaido is a year-round destination for travelers as its distinct seasons benefit the activities you can do here. The hotter summer months of July and August are perfect for witnessing colorful meadows full of flowers. Winter peaks in January with colder temperatures than the rest of the country, but it is then that the snowy slopes are at their best for skiing. The months of April, May and June are spring-like with pleasant temperatures and long sunny days, which is great for hiking. Fall arrives early on Hokkaido and by mid-September the famous autumn colors are once again changing the landscape.

To start planning your vacation to Bourou Noguchi Hakodate

Description

A pleasing blend of modern and traditional Japanese style, the Bourou Noguchi offers spacious accommodation, wonderful hot spring bathing and friendly staff in a quiet Hakodate location.

The hot springs at Hakodate, known as Yunokawa Onsen, have a long history dating back at least 350 years. The Bourou Noguchi hotel has honoured this illustrious heritage with an attractive combination of modern Japanese style fused with traditional design. There are three room categories, two of which offer in-room private onsen bathing, while the hotel’s restaurant serves creative multi-course kaiseki cuisine. The staff are friendly and obliging, and Bourou Noguchi is infused with a spacious and calm serenity. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Hakodate Station, a 10-minute drive from the airport or a five-hour 30-minute drive from Sapporo.

Of the three room types, Suites offer the greatest level of comfort and range of amenities. Full of contemporary sleek lines, guests enjoy separate lounges with leather sofas, recessed lighting, private hot springs baths and massage chairs. In contrast, those that prefer more traditional Japanese design should opt for a Wamodern Room with low furniture and early 20th-century styling. Some include a separate living area but all offer private onsen and massage chair. Amenities in these room categories include Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, air purifier, fridge, coffee grinder and maker, robes, socks, sandals and daily newspaper. Ohitorisama Rooms are styled along studio lines with a combined seating area and bedroom with European-style contemporary furnishings.

The restaurant offers a number of private dining rooms and serves multi-course kaiseki cuisine with an emphasis on seafood, while the Sky Salon is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views. Along with the private in-room onsen, the hotel has indoor and outdoor hot springs bathing pools offering panoramic views. There is also both a wooden and stone sauna as well as the option to enjoy a relaxing massage. The bathing pools and saunas both operate on a timed single sex basis.
