Ragusa's Ancient Canyons and Watermills

Begin the day with the visit of a dairy farm near Ragusa. Discover the laborious productive process that underlies the excellence of Hyblaean dairy products. Taste fresh-made ricotta and other local cheeses.
Then, take a guided stroll through Ragusa Ibla. See the Duomo of San Giorgio, the symbol of the town’s rebirth and discover the Giardino Ibleo (Ibleo garden), the oldest of the four main parks in Ragusa, which offers great views of the surrounding countryside. During the tour, stop at the atelier of a Sicilian cart master, used throughout the island as a means of transport until the second half of the 20th century and nowadays considered a true work of art.

At lunchtime, visit an ancient watermill located in the middle of a canyon in Ragusa. Learn about Sicilian indigenous durum wheat varieties and the traditional way to grind them. Then, enjoy a tasting of local specialties made with the flours produced in the watermill inside a charming cave.

After lunch, private transfer back to your accommodation for a leisurely afternoon.
