Kronplatz located in the South Tyrol and part of the Dolomiti Superski. Known as the mountain that resembles a giant panettone the ski area of Kronplatz is not too far the Alta Badia region. Guests staying in Corvara or San Cassiano can arrange a taxi to and from Kronplatz, which takes around 30 minutes. You will spend the day skiing the long pistes which surround the Plan de Corones summit.
Lumen Museum and AlpiNN Restaurant are located at the peak and are fabulous experiences to break up your day. Lumen celebrates the history of mountain photography, exploring the breadth of mountain culture. The building was designed by architect Gerhard Mahlknecht and cantilevers out over the Italian Dolomites, quite a photo opportunity in itself.
Dining at AlpiNN Restaurant is a delight, you will enjoy the breath-taking panorama of the Dolomites combined with culinary gastronomy. Norbert Niederkofler is the pioneer of this inspiring restaurant, also head chef at three Michelin Star restaurant at the Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, this new project is a contemporary yet casual take on dining at altitude. We recommend booking in advance.
For non-skiers Lumen and AlpiNN are both accessible via the Kronplatz funicular followed by a short walk down to them.
